Mimi  King was born in Sydney, Australia  and has lived part of her life in the city and part in the country. Currently, Mimi lives in the countryside on the South Coast of NSW surrounded by farmland and bush.

She has 5 children and 9 grandchildren and has been a teacher of preschool and primary children for many happy years.

With her great love of children’s literature she is never happier than when she is reading to a child on her lap or to a classroom full of children.
 
Mimi  considers it a great honour to contribute to a child’s development with books that are entertaining as well as educational. She is inspired by the thought of children all over the world reading and enjoying the Poppy books.
